Conspiracy nuts be damned! Obama makes the right call in not releasing bin Laden photos

President Obama has opted not to release the gruesome photos of Osama bin Laden’s dead body, a prudent move for several reasons.
One is they obviously would be as inflammatory as a oil refinery fire in the Middle East. No need to further fan the unforgiving wind of retaliation from cutting across our face like a double-edged sword.
Two, no reason to suck up to the conspiracy theorists who will just claim the photos were doctored anyway. If people refuse to believe that bin Laden is deader than the Edsel, their blindness is their problem. We can’t give sight to eyes that are as black and dense as carbon.
Obama said it best: “It is important for us to make sure that very graphic photos of somebody who was shot in the head … as an incitement to additional violence as a propaganda tool. That’s not who we are. We don’t trot out this stuff as trophies. We don’t need to spike the football. There is no doubt that we killed Osama bin Laden.”
Nevertheless, there obviously are and always will be doubting Thomases. But they will have to don scuba gear to stick a finger in bin Laden’s side.
