Today's New Hampshire diary: Republican candidates blister Obama's recess appointments while everybody else scopes out Santorum

So what’s going on in Iowa today? Oh, that’s right. Iowa now is as irrelevant as phone booths.
New Hampshire now is the focal point of the known universe and just what has been going on today in the Granite State?
Well, Republican presidential hopefuls were lampooning and harpooning President Obama’s recess appointments to the National Labor Relations board, calling it an arrogant power grab.
If you’re keeping score at home, chalk one up for the Republicans. They are correct.
Of course, presidents get to wield a bigger stick because they are saluted with Hail to the Chief and never have to take a cab. George W. Bush signed his share of recess appointments as well. It goes with the Oval Office, just like the fancy desk.
The other main theme of Thursday in New Hampshire is all the attention lavished on Rick Santorum, the latest Republican rock star.
People can’t take their eyes off him. He’s suddenly hotter there than potbelly stoves, even if he likely won’t win Tuesday’s primary.
